SNAP/EBT retailer application assistance

Help for grocery stores, bodegas and convenience stores applying for USDA authorization to accept SNAP benefits through EBT.

We help grocery stores, bodegas, convenience stores, neighborhood markets and other eligible food retailers through the application process to become USDA-authorized stores that accept SNAP benefits through EBT cards.

This service is for businesses that want to accept SNAP in their store, not for individuals applying for benefits. The government application is free and filed online; we help you prepare and submit it correctly, with the information and documents the agency asks for.

How we help

  • Initial applications for new stores that want to accept SNAP/EBT.
  • Guidance with the Login.gov account and the USDA online application system.
  • Gathering and organizing your business, ownership and store-location information.
  • Review of the banking information needed to receive SNAP deposits.
  • General guidance on the EBT terminal and transaction provider you will need once authorized.
  • Help understanding and assembling the supporting documentation the agency requests.
  • Applications for a new store location or after a change of ownership.
  • Reauthorization assistance when the agency requires it, and help responding to requests for additional information.

What to have on hand

  • Business details: legal and trade name, store address, type of store and opening date.
  • Information for each owner (we will tell you at your appointment what the agency asks for; do not send it through the website form).
  • Sales information and the store’s staple-food inventory.
  • The business bank account where EBT sales will be deposited.
Please note

SNAP authorization applies to the location and ownership on record. Each eligible store location generally needs its own authorization, and a new owner cannot keep using the former owner’s authorization: a new application must be filed.

Authorization to participate as a SNAP retailer is issued exclusively by USDA’s Food and Nutrition Administration (FNA, formerly the Food and Nutrition Service). Approval is subject to the agency’s eligibility requirements and review. Calderon Tax Services is not a government agency, is not affiliated with USDA, and cannot guarantee approval or processing times.
